Jenyns, Soame, 1704-1787
Soame Jenyns is best known for his Free enquiry into the nature and origin of evil (1757) which received savage treatment by Samuel Johnson in his review published in the Literary magazine. Jenyns was widely admired, however, for his easy prose style.
