New West Education Commission
Anti-Mormon commission organized in 1879 chiefly to promote Christian civilization in the western U.S.; joined the American College and Education Society in 1893 to form the American Education Society; in 1894 this was reorganized as the Congregational Education Society; headquartered in Chicago; Boston office established ca. 1883.
