Casanova, Frank

Frank Casanova worked for several years at the Grand Canyon Visitor’s Center. He became interested in the legend of an old musket that was displayed there, which was said to have been supplied to the Havasupai Indians by General Crook in 1886 for defense against the Apaches. Casanova produced an account of Crook’s encounter with the Havasupi based on his study of the diaries of Capt. John G. Bourke, who was Aide de Camp to Gen. Crook.

From the guide to the Frank Casanova collection, 1881-1886, 1964-1966, (The Museum of Northern Arizona)
