Townsley, Samuel S., 1852-1928
Samuel Townsley worked as a teacher and a school superintendent for schools in Brighton, Columbus City, Knoxville, Storm Lake, Hampton and Decorah, Iowa as well as Vermillion, South Dakota, Indiana, Kansas and Arizona. He also worked as a salesman for Johnson's New Cyclopedia in Vermillion. Samuel Townsley was born in Brighton, Iowa; attended Grandview Academy (Grandview, Louisa County, Iowa) and National Normal School (Lebanon, Ohio). In 1872 he married Margaret E. Leech.
