Winship, Abiel.
Abiel Winship, a Brighton, Massachusetts merchant, was a participant in the three-way trade between Boston, the Northwest Coast, and China in the early half of the nineteenth century. Winship traded goods from Boston for furs on the Northwest Coast; in China, these furs were traded for silk, tea and other Chinese goods which Winship could import for sale in the United States.
