Born April 4, 1868 in Copiah county, Mississippi to Martha Eveline Scott and Dr. Zachariah James Scott; educated at University of Mississippi; admitted to bar; married Helen Jane Caden and had four sons; superintendent of Brookhaven schools, president of Mississippi Teachers Assn.; board member, vice president and professor, Mississippi Normal College, died May 10, 1949.
