Eugster, Hans P.
Biographical Note: Hans-Peter Eugster was a geochemist who taught at The Johns Hopkins University. He was one of the founders of the experimental petrology field and also did research in low-temperature geochemistry, salt deposition by evaporation of natural water, and the origin of metallic ore deposits.
Eugster studied at the Eidgenèossische Technische Hochschule in Zurich, receiving his D. Sc. degree in 1951 after studying with mineralogist Paul Niggli. He studied one year with Louis Ahrens at M.I.T., worked at the Carnegie Institution's Geophysical Laboratory, and spent the remainder of his career teaching at JHU and the University of Wyoming.
