McGrath, Ruth

John Boyle O'Reilly (1844-1890) was an Irish poet transported to Western Australia in 1868 on a charge of intended mutiny against the British government. He was sent to the convict settlement at Bunbury where with the help of an Irish priest, the Rev. Patrick McCabe, he contrived to escape in 1869, eventually reaching the United States.
