Feiss, Carl (American urban planner, 1907-1997)
Educator, city planner and historic preservation consultant.
Carl Lehman Feiss received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1931; a Master of City Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1938; and studied at the Cranbrook Academy of Art under Eliel Saarinen from 1932-1935. Feiss taught at Columbia University School of Architecture from 1936 to 1941, where he became director of the Planning and Housing Division.
