Quinn, William W. (William Wilson), 1907-2000
William Wilson Quinn (b. Nov. 1, 1907, Crisfield, Md.-d. Sept. 11, 2000), U.S. Army officer, graduated from West Point in 1933 and early in his career served as a company commander of infantry and provost marshal, Manila, Philippines. During World War II, he was assigned to IV Corps and 7th Army as deputy chief of staff for intelligence. He also served in that position for X Corps in Korea, and was commanding officer, 7th Infantry Division, 17th Infantry Regiment, in Korea (1950-1951). Later in the 1950s he served overseas in Greece and Germany. From 1961 to 1964 he was deputy director, Defense Intelligence Agency, and until his retirement in 1966 he served as commanding general, 7th U.S. Army in Germany.
