Missionary; born Robert Wesley Brain, 1928; raised in Angola where his parents were Africa Evangelical Fellowship missionaries; educated in Belgian Congo and U.S.; graduated from Gordon College (B.A.) and Gordon Divinity School (B.D.); married Joan Gordon and joined Africa Evangelical Fellowship, 1953; after language school in Lisbon, Portugal, assigned to Catota Bible Institute, Angola, 1954-1975; worked first among Angolan refugees (1977-1983) and then as principal in newly opened in a Bible institute, 1983-1987, in Luampa, Zambia; jailed and expelled from the country, 1987; carried on translation of Bible course materials, 1987- ; had five children.
