Partin, Clyde
Clyde "Doc" Partin, Sr. (1925-2009), served as Emory University's Athletic Director from 1966-1983. From 1986-2002, Partin taught physical education at the University. He is the author of ATHLETICS FOR ALL: THE HISTORY OF SPORTS AT EMORY, a book on the history of Emory athletics, published in 2006. Partin also wrote articles and presented papers on the history of sports and important sports figures, such as baseball players Earle Combs, Hank Aaron and Babe Ruth. He was also particularly interested in the Atlanta Braves (baseball) and the Atlanta Chiefs (soccer).
