Quillan, Joe

Joseph Quillan was born ca. 1916; was a radio and television comedy writer for more than 20 years; wrote for radio programs such as The Eddie Cantor show, Time to smile with Eddie Cantor, Wednesday with you, and the radio and television productions of Our Miss Brooks; died Apr. 6, 1961.

Eddie Quillan was born in Philadelphia, PA on Mar. 31, 1907; appeared in several Max Sennett two-reel comedies (1926-28); went on to feature films under contract to Pathe Studio (1928-ca. 1933); freelanced at MGM, RKO, Paramount, and later Universal (1938-45); his numerous film credits include, Mutiny on the Bounty, Grapes of wrath, and Brigadoon; his extensive television career includes such programs as Chico and the man, The Jack Benny show, Julia, Barreta, Little house on the prairie, Father Murphy, and Highway to heaven.
