Partridge family

Bishop Edward Partridge was the first bishop of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His descendents continued to have an influence in Utah.

Bishop Edward Partridge was ordained as the first bishop of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints in 1831. He died in 1840 while the Saints were in Nauvoo, but his descendents would continue on to the Salt Lake Valley. Some of his descendents include E. DeAlton Patridge who taught at Montclair university and was active in the Provo community, and Alice Louise Reynolds who taught Brigham Young University and was actively engaged in the suffragist cause.
