Enderby, Mary
Mary Enderby was the wife of Samuel Enderby Jnr. (1756-1829), who was the son of Samuel Enderby (1720-1797), founder of the whaling and sealing firm of Samuel Enderby & Sons. During the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century, Enderby vessels made profitable voyages to both northern and southern waters. On her husband's death in 1829, the firm was inherited by their three sons, Charles, Henry and George.
