Utterback, Elizabeth, 1904-1966.
A native of Louisville, Ky., Martha Elizabeth Utterback was widely known as an educator, poet, and short story writer. She attended Western Kentucky State College (A.B., 1927), George Peabody College (M.A., 1929) and Columbia University (Ed. D., 1950). She was an English instructor at Alabama Women's College (1930-1944), Brooklyn College (1945-46), Associate Colleges for Upper New York (1946-48), and East Carolina College (1950-66). During her career she wrote short stories, poems, articles, a novel, and a book.
