Southern Baptist Convention. Canada Study Committee.
At the annual meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, June, 1983, C.B. Hogue of Oklahoma made a motion to add the words "and Canada" to the Southern Baptist Convention Constitution. The motion was amended to refer the motion to a Canada Study Committee composed of 21 persons to report back to the 1984 Southern Baptist Convention. The President of the Southern Baptist Convention appointed the committee which consisted of representatives from the Foreign Mission Board, Home Mission Board, the Executive Committee, and the Northwest Baptist Convention. Fred E. Roach, member of the Richardson Heights Baptist Church in Richardson, Texas, served as chairman of the committee. .
