S.-Fischer-Verlag
Gottfried Bermann Fischer became Franz Werfel's publisher in 1938. Bermann-Fischer Verlag and Bermann-Fischer/Querido Verlag were publishing enterprises established by Bermann Fischer during his exile from Germany and in the immediate postwar period; they were eventually superceded by S. Fischer Verlag, which Bermann Fischer reestablished in Germany in 1950. S. Fischer Verlag subsequently presided over the German publishing rights to Werfel's works. Frisch held an editorial position at Bermann-Fischer Verlag. Hirsch held a leading editorial position at S. Fischer Verlag and was Klarmann's principal contact there through the end of 1962; after that Klarmann's chief editorial contacts were Freund and Stadelmann. Other correspondents within the editorial division of S. Fischer Verlag were: Bruhns, Falkenberg, Fecher, Johann, Niedeck, Perels, Petersen, Schmidt, and Wagenbach. Härtling and Mertz assumed management positions in the company in 1968. Bussmann was in the theater division. Jürgensmeyer and Stapp were in the advertising division. Musulin was in the accounting division. Hasenclever was at J. G. Cotta'sche Buchhandlung Nachfolger. Lobenberg possessed an item of correspondence from Franz Werfel. Guggenheim acted as a literary agent for Klarmann and was the addressee of 1 item.
