McCullough, Samuel Thomas

Samuel McCullough (1826-ca. 1890) was a California businessman and state assemblyman. He came from New Jersey in 1855 to Sacramento, CA, where he practiced his trade as a carpenter. In 1858 he joined the gold rush to the Fraser River in Canada but returned to San Francisco in 1860 and worked as a building contractor and hotel proprietor. He served in the California state assembly (1871-73) and was superintendent of U.S. Government buildings in San Francisco from 1873-78.
