Clare, John Fitzgibbon, Earl of, 1792-1851.
John Fitzgibbon, 2nd Earl of Clare, British politician. He was a close friend of the poet Lord Byron, who said of Fitzgibbon, "I have always loved him better than any male thing in the world." Lord Clare served as the Governor of Bombay from 1831-1835.
