Armstrong, James Smith, 1803-1883.

In the 1830s, James Smith Armstrong was the Cincinnati agent for Armstrong, Grant and Company, a Maysville, Kentucky salt supplier. Armstrong invested in Cincinnati real estate, banks and railroads. In 1836 he was selected as president of the Commercial Bank of Cincinnati. He moved to France in 1842 and left Richard Miller in charge of his properties and investments.
