Barton, Asa S., 1799-1871.

Asa S. Barton was born on September 11, 1799 in Andover, Vermont, the son of Rufus and Lydia (Washer) Barton. He left Andover in 1818, moving to Ludlow, Vermont. He was uncle to Abby Maria Hemenway, editor the the Vermont Historical Gazetter. He died on July 19, 1871 in Ludlow, Vermont.

Hiland H. Hall was born on September 3, 1836 in Andover, Vermont, the son of Alden and Sophia (Hall) Gutterson. In 1869 he edited material gathered for the history of Andover to be published in Abby Hemenway's Vermont HIstorical Gazetteer. He died on June 29, 1878 in Andover, Vermont.
