Anderson, Robert, 1922-1996
Robert Anderson (b. Jan. 6, 1922, Boston, Mass.-d. Apr. 5, 1996, Washington, D.C.) was a career Foreign Service Officer. His posts included Special Assistant to the Secretary of State, 1963 to 1965; U.S. Ambassador to Dahomey, 1972 to 1974; Special Assistant for Press Relations to Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, 1974 to 1976; U.S. Ambassador to Morocco, 1976 to 1978; Special Assistant for International Affairs to the Commander-in-Chief, Atlantic and Supreme Allied Commander, 1978 to 1982; and U.S. Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, 1982 to 1996.
