Willet, Lawrence.
Lawrence Willet, born in Macon, Georgia, November 10, 1896, was the son of Hugh Miller Willet and Lucy Lester Willet. In 1918, he married Julia Brantley. In 1929 he was the first Georgian designated as a Charter D Life Underwriter by the American College of Life Underwriters. He was the first president and director of the Atlanta Life Underwriters Association. He was a director of H.W. Lay and Company, Seydell-Worley and Company, the Auto-Solar Company, and the National Bank of Georgia. Lawrence Willet died in Atlanta, May 12, 1980. Brantley County Georgia was named after Benjamin D. Brantley.
