Boyle, Ted Eugene.

Ted Eugene Boyle was a professor in the Department of English at Southern Illinois University, where he started in 1963. He obtained three degrees while attending the University of Nebraska, where he earned his Bachelor of Science, Master of Arts, and Doctor of Philosophy. Before coming to Southern Illinois University, he was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Nebraska. From 1966 to 1971, he served as Associate Professor and was granted tenure as a professor in 1971. During his time at Southern Illinois University, Dr. Boyle served on several committees and was also the Director of Graduate Studies beginning in 1970. Dr. Boyle published several journal articles, in addition to two books, "Symbol and Meaning in the Fiction of Joseph Conrad" in 1965, as well as "Brendan Behan" in 1969.
