Bowen, E. J. (Edmund John), 1898-1980
Physical chemist; Fellow of the Royal Society; tutor and Fellow of University College, Oxford. Bowen was a student and graduate researcher at the Balliol-Trinity Laboratories, Oxford, in the 1920s and 1930s, when they were the centre of Oxford's important school of physical chemistry. His own special field was photochemistry.
