Green, Winifred, 1928-
Winifred Green was raised in Jackson, Mississippi. She formed the group Mississippians for Public Education with four other women in the mid 1960s to explore plans for peaceful desegregation of the state's public schools and to fight against freedom of choice desegregation. She worked in the civil rights movement in Lowndes County, Mississippi.
