Smart, George, 1776-1867

Sir George Smart was a prominent English conductor and musician. Remembered for his association with the music of Handel and Beethoven, and his patronage of Arthur Sullivan, he was involved in most aspects of music, and remained a sought after teacher until the end of his days.
