Archer, William (architect)
Architect, botanist and politician. Fellow of the Royal and Linnean Societies of England, and for some years Secretary of the Royal Society of Tasmania, he named many Tasmanian plants and assisted Dr. Hooker with Flora Tasmaniae. From 1856-1858 he worked at the Herbarium, Kew Gardens. Several times Member of the House of Assembly, Tasmania 1851-1866.
