University of Utah. Institutional Council.

The Institutional Council was formed as the governing body of the University in 1969. Prior to that time, that function was performed by the Board of Regents. In 1969, the Board of regents took over the position of the Utah State Board of Higher Education, which had the overall governing of the post-high school institutions of the state. Each institution has its own Institutional Council.
