Denver, Colo. author, teacher, historian. Also well known as lecturer and photographer. His books include: Jeep trails to Colorado ghost towns (1963), An empire of silver (1965), Ghost towns of the Colorado Rockies (1968), Holy Cross, the mountain and the city (1970), Colorado ghost towns, past and present (1972), Uphill both ways (1976), Saloons of the American West (1978).
