F.L. Emmert Company.

Originally founded as a saloon in 1881 by Savior Maier and F.L. Emmert, the company changed its business focus to processing brewery by- products in order to take advantage of the successful Cincinnati brewing industry. The company processed the wet mash residue and sold it to local farmers and feed dealers. The company prospered after installing a dryer operation in 1907. The company survived Prohibition and the decline of the Cincinnati brewing industry and was still operating in 1996. Several family members were involved with the firm.
