The Chesapeake and Ohio Railway Company begins operating the railroad from Greenbrier and Eastern Junction, WV to Johnstown, WV on December 31, 1927. On February 15, 1928, the Greenbrier & Eastern Railroad Company is leased to The Chesapeake and Ohio Railway Company. On December 30, 1931, the railroad is conveyed by deed to The Nicholas, Fayette and Greenbrier Railroad Company.
