KLRU (Television station : Austin, Tex.)
Created by Aida Barrera and produced by KLRU-TV in Austin, Texas, Carrascolendas is a children’s educational television program, which originally aired from 1970 to 1977. Centered around the Spanish- and English-speaking villagers of the fictional town Carrascolendas, the show promotes multiculturalism and diversity while teaching children, particularly Hispanic-Americans, how to deal with such emotions as loneliness and jealousy as well as the concepts of self-esteem and self-identity through affective education.
