Wisconsin. Judicial Council

Chapter 392 of the Laws of 1951 created the Judicial Council. It succeeded the Advisory Committee on Rules of Pleading, Practice and Procedure which had been created by Chapter 404, Laws of 1929.

The Judicial Council performs several functions, including studying the rules of pleading, practice, and procedure and advising the Supreme Court on any changes which might simplify those procedures; surveying and studying the organization, jurisdiction, and methods of administration and operation of all state courts; recommending legislation on any changes in court procedures, jurisdiction, or organization; assisting the preparation of Supreme Court rules for publication; and advising the Supreme Court and the Legislature on any matter affecting the administration of justice in Wisconsin.
