Ogee's Ferry.
Canadian who established a ferry on the Rock River in Lee County, Ill. near what is now the town of Dixon, and was married to Pottawatomie woman, Madeline. The various tribes were fond of Ogee and when discussing terms for land treaties they wanted to be sure the land for his ferry was left with him. The Treaty of Prairie du Chien, grants the land to Madeline.
