Clark, Walter Ernest, 1873-1955

Walter E. Clark served as president of the University of Nevada, 1918-1938. During his tenure, he kept daily and detailed journals of his appointments, with notes of meetings and discussions with faculty, students, and regents, as well as copies of programs presented at the University. Included are programs for Wolves Frolic (homecoming), Engineers Day, and the interclass competition between freshmen and sophomores known as Cane Rush. He also kept copies of programs where he was a speaker or member of the audience in Reno or other Nevada communities and include high school commencemnet programs. Although entries primarily detail his administrative duties, there are also references concerning his personal life.
