Hamilton, William Rowan, Sir, 1805-1865
William Rowan Hamilton was an Irish astronomer and mathematician and made remarkable theoretical contributions in physics and algebra. He was the director of the observatory at Dublin, Ireland, and Astronomer Royal of Ireland.
