U.S. senator and state legislator from New Jersey; studied medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and later practiced in Fairfield and Downe townships, Cumberland county, New Jersey; was co-owner of the Cedarville Woolen Factory in his hometown of Cedarville, N.J.
