Soule, Caroline A. (Caroline Augusta), 1824-1903
Caroline Augusta White Soule (1824-1903) was an American author and Universalist missionary and minister. After the death in 1843 of her husband, Henry Birdsall Soule, a Universalist minister, she supported her children by writing and teaching. In 1869 she helped found and was the president of the Woman's Centenary Association, a Universalist organization whose purpose was to aid disabled preachers and their families, assist women stuudying for the ministry, and do missionary work in the U.S. and abroad. In 1879 she started St. Paul's Universalist Church in Glasgow, Scotland, and served as its pastor.
