Kent, Fred I., 1869-1954

Fred I. Kent (1869-1954) was a banker at the First National Bank of Chicago and Bankers' Trust Company in New York City, and an expert on foreign exchange. During World War I, he was influential in establishing foreign exchange policies between the Allies and after the war focused his efforts on the issues of reparations and the payment of war debt. Kent was also active in numerous semi-public organizations, including the American Bankers Association and International Chamber of Commerce, director of several corporations, and president and chairman of the Council of New York University.
