Scofield family.
Many members of the Scofield family lived for a time in Carthage, Hancock County, Illinois. They included Charles J. Scofield, lawyer, circuit judge, and local historian; his wife, Rose Spitler Scofield; his brother, Timothy J. Scofield, also a lawyer; Timothy's first wife, Georgia A. Edmonds Scofield; as well as Charles and Timothy's mother, Elizabeth Scofield, and other relatives.
