Kirkland, Richard, 1843-1863
Confederate sergeant, later lieutenant, Company E, Second South Carolina Carolina Volunteers; native of Kershaw County, S.C.; fought at the battles of Fredericksburg (Va.) and Gettysburg (Pa.); killed in action at the Battle of Chicamauga.
