Lang, Otto
Born in Schaffhausen, Switzerland 1863, died in Zurich 1936; studied law at German universities; examining magistrate 1888-1893 and judge 1893-1900 in Zurich, member and eventually president at the cantonal High Court 1900-1916 and 1920-1935; joined the social democratic movement in the 1880s, took an active part in the formation of the Sozialdemokratische Partei der Schweiz (SPS) in 1889, author in 1905 of its program and longtime member of the party's Executive; social democratic member of the communal 1890-1916, 1926-1936 and cantonal 1890-1936 parliaments of Zurich and a city councillor for public health 1916-1919.
