Miller, Warren, 1921-1966
Warren Miller was a writer, educator, and political activist. Born in Stowe, Pennsylvania, he was educated at the University of Iowa, and, after serving in World War II, remained at Iowa as an instructor. He wrote several novels, notable for their handling of race relations and politics, as well as becoming active in political causes such as the anti-war movement. He also wrote children's books, contributed articles to periodicals, and wrote several romance novels under the pseudonym Amanda Vail. His second wife, Jimmy Miller, was the author of the novel, The Big Win.
