Philadelphia Association of Day Nurseries (Pa.).
A private coordinating agency composed of day nurseries committed to the care of children and to providing constructive service to families. Founded in 1898 by members of the Germantown Day Nursery, Kensington Day Nursery, The Day Nursery, Jewish Day Nursery, Baldwin Day Nursery, Jane D. Kent Day Nursery, Willing Day Nursery, and Northern Day Nursery. Membership was open to any organized day nursery in the Philadelphia area.
Since 1928 this agency became affiliated with the Children's Department of the Council of Social Agencies, later the Health and Welfare Council, Inc. The Philadelphia Association of Day Nurseries remained active well into the 1950s and officially ceased as an organization in 1971.
