Springfield Art Association

Organized in 1909 as the Amateur Art Study Club for the purpose of art study and with Georgia Watson Miner as the first club president. In 1913 Alice Edwards Ferguson, the granddaughter of Illinois' fourth governor, Ninian Edwards, donated her house to the association as a place for art classes, art exhibits and social gatherings.
