McBride, William B.
Obstetrician, gynaecologist and medical researcher. Attributed with first naming Thalidomide as a cause of birth defects in 1961. Established medical research organisation Foundation 41 in 1972. Investigated by the New South Wales Medical Tribunal 1989-93. Struck from the Register of Medical Practitioners in 1993, reinstated in 1998.
