Pickman, Benjamin, 1740-1819
The diaries appear to have been kept by Benjamin Pickman (1740-1819) during his 10 year exile in England. Massachusetts banned him in 1778 for being a loyalist during the American Revolution. The Pickman family was involved in the shipping business in Salem, Massachusetts.
