Thomas Walker Gilmer married Anne E. Baker. Their daughter Elizabeth Anderson Gilmer married St. George Tucker (1828-1863) and their daughter Anne Baker Tucker married Lyon G. Tyler. His mother was Juliana Gardiner Tyler, daughter of Juliana McLachlan Gardiner.
